Kimberley West is a proud native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She is a graduate of Pine Bluff High School as well as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Mrs. West began her educational career as an elementary art teacher. She moved on to become a 5th grade teacher and remained in that position until she received her current assignment as principal at W. T. Cheney Elementary School.
While her first love was art, she has since found tremendous joy in helping students and teachers reach their highest potential both in and out of the classroom. She believes a great education is more than what you learn in a book, but it also consists of what you learn about life.
She received a BSE in Art Education and a M. Ed in Elementary Education, both from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She then furthered her educational career and completed studies at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, receiving an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration. Mrs. West’s ultimate goal is to crush the barriers between home and school and make the educational journey of all students a cumulative massive approach with all stake holders equally engaged in the success of the students.
In addition to being an educator, she is also a wife, a mother and a grandmother. In her spare time, she enjoys being creative in the kitchen. Her favorite quote sums up how she approaches each day, each child and each trial that may arise during the day… “Children don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
